Create is a multi-arts festival in the five London broughs to host the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. As part of this year's festival Spread the Word is coordinating creative writing workshops for adults and children in Greenwich, Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.

It's an inspiring, diverse and exciting programme of workshops to get the residents in those boroughs to explore the heritage, diversity and creativity of their communities through creative writing. Check out the workshops and book your place here .

"Arts Council England has been pleased to support the growth of Spread the Word, enabling the organisation to work in boroughs in West and now East London. Through its pioneering writer and reader development work, Spread the Word is now ideally placed to make lasting changes at a community level across many areas of London, and can play an important part in seeing that the arts - and literature in particular - are at the heart of the Thames Gateway development."
- Nick McDowell, Head of Literature, Arts Council London
