Autumn Season 2010
Autumn may be upon us but we're not feeling blue as we have planned a season of events to ensure that our 15th anniversary year ends with a bang - full of opportunities to celebrate and share our achievements.
We're going back to Brixton where we were born in 1995 to celebrate with the people we love. Make sure you join us at Brixton Library for our special Writers' Rendezvous Birthday Party . The evening will feature performances, readings, a quiz, a 'wall of sound' advice, DJ Excalibah spinning tunes, party games and a mound of birthday cake.
There's nothing like a genre surge to signal the zeitgeist - look at the current boom in vampire lit and dark romance. We've pulled together some of the leading writers of genre fiction to guide you through the essentials of mass market genre writing at our Guilty Pleasures - Genre Writing Day packed full of masterclasses.
Come and join us for an evening of powerful, moving and truly exciting poetry from ten exceptional Black and Asian UK poets. The evening will be hosted by Bernardine Evaristo and Daljit Nagra and marks the launch of a new Bloodaxe antholgy - Ten .
This season's PenPals event for young writers aged 18-30 sees us in partnership with Story Slam Live. Come and hear fresh new storytelling and share your words with other young writers. What do you have to say about the city you live in? What does this sprawling metropolis mean to you? Bring along your story on the theme of London. The judges' favourite will win £100.
Join leading writer and performance poet Francesca Beard on London Tales , an exciting workshop inspired by Chaucer's Canterbury Tales.
We bring you another series of creative writing workshops delivered in partnership with Wandsworth Library and Heritage Service. The workshops are open to writers from across London and cover all genres.
